SUMMARY
Warehouse associate daily duties include crating and uncrating machines and equipment. Package and palatize film consumables for customer orders. Assist with receiving shipments and verifying goods. Keep warehouse organized and maintained. May also test or assist in testing operation and assembly of completed machines. Inventory control and cycle counts. Shipping, receiving and putting parts away as needed. Loading and unloading trucks and setting up shipments between facilities. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shipping and Receiving
- Uncrating equipment from suppliers to get machines ready for final assembly and test
- Crating of equipment for shipment to customer
- Prepare shrink sleeve labels and tamper-evident bands for shipment to customer
- Back up shipping of products
- Putting parts away
- Sorting and controlling warehouse of large machines
- Unloading and loading trucks with equipment
- Scheduling shipments between buildings
Assembly Process:
- Assembly and testing of automatic case tapers
- Pull parts from inventory to assemble machine
- Basic testing, troubleshooting and inspection of assembled products for defects and quality
Miscellaneous:
- Maintain inventory accuracy. Participate in cycle counting program. Notify Supervisor of count discrepancies and shortages
- Work Safely. Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum of 0-3 years previous experience
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Forklift experience preferred
- Excellent hand to eye coordination
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tool usage
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently following general procedures
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to operate general office equipment such as telephone, copier, fax, computer, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Use of skills requiring motor coordination with finger dexterity (e.g. using power tools, pneumatic nail guns, and hand tools etc.) during most of a normal workday
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 50 pounds
- Required to be exposed to a physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, and similar elements during most of a portion of the workday
